The Lord Justice Clerk announces her intention to retire in 2025

The first woman to be appointed Lord Justice Clerk has announced her intention to retire.
Lady Dorrian has written to King Charles III to inform him that she intends to retire in 2025 at the same time as the Lord President. She has also informed the UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the First Minister of Scotland John Swinney.

The Lord President has written to His Majesty King Charles III to inform the King of his intention to retire in early 2025. Lord Carloway has also written to the UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the First Minister of Scotland John Swinney to notify them of his decision.
His Majesty the King, on the recommendation of First Minister, has appointed Sheriff Andrew Cubie, Kirsty Hood KC, Ronaldo Renucci KC and Morag Ross KC as Senators of the College of Justice. They will take up appointment on 17th June 2024.
New First Minister sworn in at the Court of Session

John Swinney was sworn in by the Lord President as Scotland’s seventh First Minister and Keeper of the Scottish Seal, at the Court of Session this morning.
Serving Glasgow and Strathkelvin; Lothian and Borders; North Strathclyde; South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway; and Tayside, Central and Fife Sheriffdoms.
