New Sheriffs Appointed to the Sheriff Appeal Court

Sheriffs Ian Cruickshank, Stuart Reid and Linda Nicolson have been appointed as appeal sheriffs by the Lord President, Lord Pentland. Sheriffs Cruikshank and Reid will take up their appointments on 23 June 2025, with Sheriff Nicolson’s appointment taking effect from 15 September 2025.
Sheriff Principal Anwar, President of the Sheriff Appeal Court, said: “I wish to congratulate those who have been appointed. Their considerable legal knowledge and shrieval experience will serve them well as they take on the challenge of appellate work. I look forward to working with each of them in their new roles as members of the Sheriff Appeal Court.”
