Jacqui Taylor has been assigned temporary president of the newly created Local Taxation Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland.

The three-year appointment, made by the President of the Scottish Tribunals, Lord Woolman, takes effect from today.

She is also Secretary of the Renfrewshire and Glasgow Valuation Appeal Panels.

The newly created Local Taxation Chamber will consist of legal and ordinary members with valuation and surveying experience. It will consider appeals relating to a number of elements of local taxation including: property valuation, calculation of council tax liabilities and reductions thereof, and local taxation related to civil penalty decisions. The functions of the existing Valuation Appeal Committees and the Council Tax Reduction Review Panel will transfer to the Chamber on 1 January 2023.
