President - Part-time Sheriff Stuart Reid KC

Sheriff Reid is a practicing member of the Scottish Bar, having called in 2011 and taken silk in 2023.  He was appointed a part-time Sheriff in 2022 and since then has sat in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland’s six Sheriffdoms.  He has been President of the Part-Time Sheriffs’ Association since November 2025.

The Part-time Sheriffs’ Association represents, safeguards and promotes the interests and welfare of Scottish part-time sheriffs and part-time summary sheriffs, and considers matters relating to the law and the administration of justice in Scotland.
